Hakim elected IIGAB President, Junayed Secy Gen

Aminul Hakim and Ahmed Junayed have been elected as the new president and secretary general respectively of the International Internet Gateway Association of Bangladesh (IIGAB) for the 2024-2026 tenure.

Prominent professionals from the internet and telecommunications sector contested in the recently concluded IIGAB election, reads a press release.

Other office bearers are: Senior Vice President Mohammad Salam (Sky Tel Communication), Vice-Presidents Mainul Haque Siddiqui (Fiber@Home), Saiful Siddiqui (PeerX Network), Joint Secretary Maktabur Rahman (Intraglobe Communications), Treasurer Ziaul Haque (ADN International), Directors Khalid Hasan (Startrek Telecom), Md Hasibur Rashid (Novocom), Khalid Raihan (Summit Communications) and Sarafatullah Zahid (Mango Teleservices).

The newly elected committee is ready to address key industry challenges, advocate for favourable policies, and enhance collaboration with national and international stakeholders. “We are committed to fostering a robust and innovative internet ecosystem in Bangladesh,” said IIGAB President Aminul Hakim.

“Our focus will be on leveraging technological advancements, driving policy reforms, and enhancing user experiences to meet the dynamic needs of our digital society,” he said.

IIGAB, as the representative body of internet gateway operators in Bangladesh, plays a crucial role in shaping the future of internet connectivity and digital transformation in the country. The new EC members, with their diverse backgrounds and expertise, are well-positioned to lead the association in achieving its strategic goals.
