Government servants rules being amended

Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain has said Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979 is being amended.
 
He said this while replying to journalists after the end of the meeting of secretaries at the Secretariat on Thursday. Mahbub Hossain said it is being amended for making the rules as time-befitting one and hoped the amendments of rules would be finalized 'soon', reports BSS. He said the government is also thinking about making the existing Integrity Strategy as time-befitting one.
 
Replying to a question, Mahbub said the existing Integrity Strategy was made around 12 years ago. Discussion was held on this issue in the meeting, he said. About the agenda of the meeting, the cabinet secretary said issues including progress of the implementation of the decisions taken in the previous meeting, budget and election manifesto were discussed.
 
Besides, suggestions were given to sincerely follow the directives the prime minister gave in different times in some office works, he said.
The cabinet secretary said maintaining transparency in budget implementation and was mentioned in the meeting. Instructions were given for ensuring government services properly at subordinate offices and monitoring it properly and taking measures with importance if people have any complain on any service, he added.
