Fakhrul pledges to intensify anti-government protests

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has pledged to accelerate anti-government protests. The commitment was made at a view-exchange meeting organised by the Biplobi Workers Party at the Dhaka Reporters Unity on Wednesday.

Fakhrul said that the country is experiencing an extreme crisis, saying, "The present government has become the main enemy of the people. They no longer want to see this government."

He said that the crisis affects both politics and the economy, accusing the government of creating a one-party state under the guise of democracy.

The BNP leader urged the people to unite to overcome the current challenges.

"In particular, youth must come forward. This struggle is not only for the BNP alone, rather it’s a struggle to protect the freedom and democracy of the country. Our goal is only one: to unseat this illegal government," he said.

He criticised the government's actions, claiming that they have destroyed both the political and economic structures of the country.
